Dying flower

When I first came across this piece a short while ago, I wasn't quite sure what I was looking at. However, after really looking at this piece I discovered that there is a lot to appreciate. The colours are to die for. The contrast between the dark, empty background and the vibrant light is stunning. I imagine the subject to be in a fantasy or space-like environment, but the title suggests to me that she may not physically be anywhere at all, but in fact between life and death. The artist is clearly very talented in creating digital art, and as for originality, I haven't seen anything quite like this before. The real beauty of this piece is that despite the medium being digital art, a medium that is often not as naturally expressive as its traditional counterpart, the artist has managed to truly capture very real, raw emotion, even if we don't quite know what it is.
